What mods to get?

Ok the last few times over the last 2 weeks I've been playing I have noticed my latency was higher then it should be averaging 2250 MS on boss fights. After going through each mod have concluded there are a few I can most likely do with out.

Tonight I will be performing a clean up and reinstall of my mods to decrease the amout used and hopefully increase my latency.

I am planning on using the following:

Spartan UI <- its not only pretty, its very useful and clean. http://www.spartanui.com/

trying to decide which would be better Titan Panel or Fubar (most have addons Guild, Friends, Whisper, Sounds, Money, durability, Location, Atlas Loot, Atlas, and Wardrobe)

Any other suggestions would be sweet. Note I don't use a healbot of any kind never have never will; and do not intend to.

Oh really?

Mods shouldn't be having any affect on your latency, so I don't think this will solve your problem. It might help your frame rate, but that has nothing to do with latency.

Unless it's dropping your latency to single digits, at which point window's terrible io locking will choke your net conn, too.

so you're latency issues go away when you disable all mods? just checking lol. Cuz the only thing that turning off all my mods did for me was increase fps

I use maximized Windowed Mode video setting which knocks off 15-20% FPS off the top, along with Gatherer, Auctioneer, and a few other mods that I suspect were adding to latency, out dated mods like Fubar as well. Since loading my new UI choice I have noticed a major increase on in-game performance, less RAM dependancy, next to no latency, and yes better FPS. Most importantly I see a lot more of the game as opposed to having mods taking up 1/3 to 1/2 of my screen.

I will post an SS tonight along with a list of mods I have chosen. I would like to re-add Gatherer hopefully tonight. The best part about my new mod is 0 config required no spending 2 days figuring out anything. I config once and presto all settings transfer to other toons and on other realms with a single click.

Try putting a ceramic duck on top of your tower. It should REALLY help with your latency.






In slightly less asshole tone, maybe your old mods were throwing a fuckton of hidden errors and causing your box to lag.

Im suprised you opted for the spartan ui. The inability to adjust the unitframes, combined with the lack of raidframes was a major pain in the ass. I also found that the animated bars were incredibly shitty and didnt update themselves fast enough. When I was messing with the ui, I found that the cast bars were off anywhere from .25 to .5 of a second, which was totally unacceptable. I could blather on for a while, suffice it to say I was really disappointed with spartan. I opted instead to customize my ui without a compilation like I always seem to end up doing.
