people don't wanna spend there dkp on sumthing that is a small upgrade, and would rather save it for - momento <3 avanne, and a hodir staff, and so on. its dumb cuz that staff may never drop, i never saw a skull drop from illidan, and sylvaa never got a glaive. but there is never going to be a perfect dkp/looting system ever, someones gonna be pissed cuz so and so had more dkp or got the item over them. theirs going to be people that just sit there and wait for there one big item, mean while loose out on dps/healing and hurt the raid more then them not having the item.

so in short term spend ur dkp on everything , and if it drops it drops(if it crits it crits) ^_-

3: The people we are replacing our good players with are awful.

i hope im not one of the awful players being added to replace good people but if i am i dont have a problem with being replaced if it would mean the guild doing better :|

I agree with a lot of things being said here...

BC was the culmination of raiding, and the best time to be a raider in WoW. The game has gone too far in a casual direction. No longer could this game even really be compared to another MMORG. For me, WoW is as much an MMORG as Super Mario 2 is a first person shooter.

I didn't raid with WLPH during BC... but I loved raiding in BC. I loved knowing I was one of the 3 best (if not the best) pve moonkin on Nathrezim. I could be found blowing my own horn in Vox Novus forums on a regular basis and gloating to myself over how geared I was compared to other players. I got a kick out of hunting down WWS reports and being able to say "yup, Im better than that guy..." That feeling has been lost in wotlk. I don't give a fuck about the journey, I care about the end result. The fact of the matter is that end result has become meaningless now and the journey is boring.

As far as player problems... I dont even recognize 50% of our current raiders from what we had at the beginning of wotlk. (Let alone what the guild had in Sunwell). Is it a recruitment problem? Maybe. Is it a reputation problem. Very likely. I wouldn't want to be in some super serious guild, I don't see the fun in that. I would bet money though, that people are judging our reputation based on the fucking clowns that spam trade chat and talk endless amounts of crap in general chat during raids. Some people may not care and some may not think it has any effect (or think it shouldn't) but it most assuredly does.

I'll let you in on a secret... I joined WLPH as a friend rank after Vox Novus and a short stint with SnD only because I didn't want to wander around guildless. To be blunt, before I was in the guild and got to know any of the core players I flat out hated WLPH. I thought the guild was full of fucking retards and annoying 12 year olds. I thought Abe was so full of shit and himself that there is no way I would ever want to be a part of WLPH. What did I have to make me think that way? The antics of a few idiots making the guild, as a whole, look terrible.

Ive come to love this guild, but it wasn't by intent so much as blind chance. Now considering my own experience, I would say there are likely a ton of other people who currently feel about wlph as I did, prior to actually being in the guild. I mean Mens Wearhouse breaks apart and did we pick up ANYONE from their core? They chose to roll with guilds where they may not get a raid spot. As I hear it, some have apped to guilds that aren't as progressed as wlph. That speaks volumes.

Could class leads be doing more to help the situation? Sure... but what is a cl in this guild? There are so many I wouldn't be surprised if some of the new recruits had no idea who they should be speaking to. At this point, it seems like the CL title is simply a pat on the back and an invitation to the "real" guild chat. Which is another problem in itself, but one I'm not going to spend a lot of time on. The monumental task of redoing guild ranks I'm sure is unappealing... but at this point I really feel it has to be done.

Bottom line, I don't really know what to feel about the current situation. I have no desire to raid when people don't show up, or when we cant even complete 1 tree Freya, or the raid is full if scrubs and friend rank players. Im sure it shows. My attendance of late has been spotty. Combine all the hate I have been feeling towards this game with the raid problems, and the end result is total apathy.

TL;DR
I can ramble on forever.
Kick the fails and friends who aren't ACTUALLY friends of people in the guild.
Kick the spamming morons, even if they are decent players. Its not worth the repercussions to keep them.
Clearly define guild ranks/leadership.
The game is going downhill, this may just be the fallout.
WLPH may be able to do very little to fix the problems at hand.
Its summertime.
Play Aion. (BWAHAHAHA, dont get all penisy on me. I know, I know, insulting WoW and suggesting an alternative is like calling your significant other a fat ugly swine)
