This idea was brought up during raid this week. I think it has potential for a couple reasons. We have several good players we're benching right now. More and more of us are getting alts to 80. So, combine those two and with content being as easy as it is right now, a new 25 man group wouldn't be too ridiculous.
Now, obviously people don't log in all the time right now... i.e. not having enough for 3 drakes when we had way extra for Tuesday. I think some people thought "man, if I wasn't taken to 25 man naxx.. why would they take me to 3 drakes?" and feel left out. People who know that if they log on in time they will almost always get a raid spot are much more likely to log on than those who don't. I think this problem would be solved with 2 25 mans. If filling out the 2nd group becomes a problem, I don't see why recruiting trade channel people would be a problem. Several people are getting back into raiding from a long time ago and they would make an awesome addition. Others just picked up the game and have great potential to excel quickly. W/e. The point is, getting through the content isn't hard.. so now should be the time we recruit potential people.
Going on with that idea.. the current 25 man would be "A group" while the 2nd would be "B group" or something along those lines. You can currently pug 25 mans for the most part.. so gear isn't really the difference between the two. We put our "best" players into the current 25 man. B group could be: excess people + new recruits+ alts. We currently clear content in a couple days right now. We could easily have the 2nd group start out after our current 25 man finishes so we don't have a problem filling out spots and it's more easy to monitor. That could change, w/e.
This way, the current 25 man never has to worry about filling out players, but people don't feel left out. If someone is gone, take the best person to fill the slot from B group. Also, if someone in B group is outperforming someone in A group.. switch them out the next week. Keep the best players in WLPH in Group A.
Why the Group A / B? When new raids come, we want our best players to hit the content first and show what the guild as a whole can do.
Concerns: Much more effort on guild leadership, at least at first. Someone else would have to be in charge of the 2nd 25 man.. basically we'd need another guild leader to manage that. The 2 leaders would need to talk about who should go in which group, when to replace people w/e.
Thoughts other than TLR?
