To answer your question on my choice on some of the reforging After this past patch everything that I have read has suggested that Mastery is a better choice than Crit atm this is due to Shadow orb's and the mind blast dmg increase. Also Shadow priest have a very low priority on hit as long as you stay around 16 % your golden.

Even going through some Theory crafting if they have the Shadow Orb procs correct Mastery > crit for the time being

but going from 1%miss to 0%miss is the same dps increase as going from 6%miss to 5%miss(THEORETICALLY)

well except in the case of dots you can refresh, or that can be refreshed regardless of misses but iirc spriests only have sw:p

spriest dots are all refreshable. theoretically, hit is not prioritized since you can just refresh dots if you miss, so you're "only" missing out on mb misses. practically, you'll go insane if you miss a lot, so you get at least a level of hit you're comfortable with.

in 4.2 they are nerfing spriest dots and buffing spriest direct damage somewhat, so hit might become more important, who knows.

i can think of a few reasons for "strange" reforgings. maybe he's reforging into and out of some stats because he's sharing gear with his heal set.

I didn't know that holy priests need hit.

also who needs dot timers when you show debuffs on your name plates!!!
