  Furly Rage
Posted by: ArchmageFurly in three days - 04-24-2009, 05:01 AM - Forum: GINERAL FORUM - Replies (3)

Yea, sorry about getting all pissed and leaving raid yesterday. I just got really frustrated with having to deal with a constant freeze-frame and as I was having issues with the mark (Though looking through the combat log there were much much worse perpetrators) I thought it'd be better if I left and kept the negative chakra out of raid before I started yelling and fucking people over. I'll embark upon a search for greater technological improvements, but in the meantime make due, and that'll be accompanied by greater self control over nerd/emo rages.

Regardless, another one bites the dust and Yogg shall be soon to follow.

  SOPH spec/wall of txt
Posted by: sophronius - 04-23-2009, 10:14 PM - Forum: GINERAL FORUM - Replies (7)

this is my spec yay, this also explains wut my spec does and why im using it, if you have a problem with it im not going to use it and will spec something else, im using it to help the raid out not my personal dps.

Spec 4. rDps

0-56-15

Background Info

Currently Totem of Wrath provides 280 Spellpower to all raid members with in range. Warlocks now have the ability to surpass the spellpower gain and or be a replacement for lack of a totem. The basic Idea, is if you don't have an ele shaman a Demonic Pact is a massive dps increase over anything else. That being said if you do have an ele shaman, bringing in a DP warlock once said warlock gets to a certain spellpower can be better than ToW.

Here's What Was brought up in the demonic pact thread.

Assuming the average raid brings say 8 dps casters, if each one scales 1 dps per spelldmage than we would need to generate an addition 62.5 average spelldamage (note average not actual do to the fact that up time is not 100%) to increase the over all raid dps to the point at which we lost dps.

The average+dmg scale factor from sim craft for all casters (excluding enh shaman) is 1.45 which would yield an average of 43.1 spelldamage to increase raid dps to compensate for loosing our personal dps. In other words On top of this chart

UP Time - Spell Power
90% - 3111
85% - 3295
80% - 3500
75% - 3734
65% - 4320
50% - 5600

We would need to add an additional 431 spellpower to each number. This would give you:

UP Time - Spell Power
90% - 3542
85% - 3726
80% - 3931
75% - 4165
65% - 4751
50% - 6031

One thing this assumes is your shaman will keep ToW down to keep uptime of any +spelldmg buff up 100% as well as the aoe 3% crit buff instead of the 3% from rogues/retpallies. If your shaman Replaces his ToW with a Searing totem and assuming the shaman gains 400 dps from a searing totem instead then there is a mere 100 dps difference that we may need to overcome (this is at current naxx gear levels and may change later) but as such we only need 8.6 spelldamage per person and there by must achieve a mere 86 spelldamage to over come the deficit.

which yields this table:

UP Time - Spell Power
90% - 3197
85% - 3381
80% - 3586
75% - 3820
65% - 4406
50% - 5686

Note: DP is up usually above 90% of the time. That being said it also falls off at time when the pet A) can't attack. B) Is being protected/resummoned. 90% flat rate is a good base to work off of, as anything over that is just frosting on the cake.

Gearing for Demonic Pact

Here are our scale factors for DP

Stat Weight
intellect 0..29
crit rating 0.73
spirit 0.82
haste rating 0.76
spell power 1.16

As you can see, unlike 40-31 the dps per scale factor is less for everything all around. But this spec isn't about you, it's about the raid. Mind you the worse you do on dps, the more you need to provide the raid in every one's dps. The idea though is definitly to stack SP, the more +dmg you bring the more the raid dps goes up. You still need the same hit as 40/31.

[top]Glyphs

* Glyph of Life Tap This new glyph massively boosts our dps and gets worked into our cycle.
* Glyph of Felgaurd Increases the dps from your Fg by a good margin.
* Glyph of Immolate It boosts immolate's damage.

[top]Rotations and Pets

This spec is 100% reliant on you keeping your FG alive. Remember just because you have Soul Link, doesn't mean you should use it. If your FG dies, it's priority #1 to get it back up.

You have some nice cooldowns to use as this spec, between meta, and Demonic Empowerment you can really churn out the dps. Time your meta for heroism, if you can set up your portal, and charge the boss, immolate and port back, it's a high amount of dps.

Your basic rotation consists of Immolate CoD, Corr SB spam, and then doing the weave below 35% And don't forget to Lifetap ever 20 seconds!

From above:

Begin Casting SB1
finish cast SB 1
begin cast of SB 2
SB 1 hits Decimate procs
finish cast of SB 2
Cast soulfire 1
finish casting soulfire 1 decimate clears
SB 2 hits decimate procs
Cast SB 3
cast soulfire 2

So you start 2xiSB 1x sf 1x SB 1x sf repeat 1:1 rotation.

  10m ULDUAR
Posted by: Hitshade - 04-23-2009, 09:15 AM - Forum: GINERAL FORUM - Replies (13)

So, I was hoping to see some type of organization for additional 10m runs. I for one would like to get some upgrades outside of a 25m environment (where many of us will have to wait WEEKS in between t8 tokens thanks to having half a raid group rolling on vanq tokens).

I know there is a desire to run an A-team group in 10m. I appreciate that. But it will slow the rest of the guild if the best tanks and healers are all in the same 10m every week.

I also know people are allergic to moonkins... so despite my dislike for healing, I have put my 1000g to use for a resto offspec. My gear certainly isn't optimized or complete, but I would do my damnedest if it meant making these groups easier. (Druids have the hardest time gearing for all offspecs as moonkin/resto/feraldps/feraltank all require different gear. My time and dkp is limited, damnit. So dont fucking ask me why I dont have completed sets for all occasions)

I would hate to try and pug that shit with a bunch of downs.

Throw your name down if you're interested. If these runs don't sort themselves out I will try and get a group together.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Im kind of hoping for Saturday evening, maybe 7-8ish if that works for everyone and we can fill out the group. Let me know what works for you guys.

EDIT: Looks like we're good to go for 8 tonight.

Tanks
1. Roj
2. Rootbear will be available.

Heals
1. Soph (on sham, sorry forgot the name)
2. Sitka
3. Mortesk

Dps
1. Hitshade
2. Furly
3. Clam
4. leelou
5. greenberg

My addons and why: U NEXT
Posted by: abecx - 04-23-2009, 05:04 AM - Forum: GINERAL FORUM - Replies (5)

I always find out about random bad ass mods really late, so I'll post up mine if you post up yours.

ALSO download this shit to update all your addons ( think wowace updater ):
http://www.curse.com/client/

Bigwigs: It uses a smaller footprint than DBM and is more concise without a bunch of uneeded shit. It also loads that bosses information when you get to him and then unloads it from memory after you kill it ( like clearing recount after you killed a boss ). DBM activates all bosses in the game that you have built in when you log in.

Cartographer: Its just a better map than the default one, I like to use it on transparent mode so i can fly and look at my map still.

Cooldown Count: Obvious, puts big ass numbers over your abilities so you can see how long you got left.

Doom_CooldownPulse: Fades in abilities when they become available off cooldown. It looks cool.

ErrorMonster: Disables message spam ( its too far away, ability not ready ). Clears up UI.

FailBot: So we can make fun of Greenberg casting on Flame Jets.

Fizzle: Quick glance in character screen that will show percentage of durability.

Itemrack: Makes gear switching trivial, also works with your bank to deposit/withdraw items if you have small bags.

Jump Cancel: I use this when i play rakimacy because i always jump to stop cast, this makes it so pushing jump doesnt make you jump just stops your cast ^_-

MailGet: Useful for opening all mail when you're super cool like me and get lots of valentines from Talyse.

Omen: Good for yelling at Styxix

Quartz: I use this just to keep and eye on my own debuff timers, all three of them! Oh and its cast bar.

TellMeWhen: Pops a big ass icon on your screen when you get procs ( ie. trinkets, clear casting, etc... ) You can set it up to do ANY ability, just tell it the buffs name and you're set.

  Nychaelus -> Arms Warrior -> Mal'Ganis Transfer
Posted by: Slurms - 04-22-2009, 10:27 PM - Forum: Recrewtment - Replies (7)

1. Your in-game name (and alts):
Nychaelus

2. Class (again), spec(again), profs, and off specs you have gear for AND CAN PLAY COMPETENTLY:
Warrior, Arms. JC / BS are my profs. I have a workable epic fury and prot set

3. Armory links (a must, hyperlink pref):
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet...=Nychaelus

4. Any WWS or WMO links to your performance in a raid (recommended):
I unfortunately don't have one, the only thing I can say in its place is that I've cleared multiple bosses in ulduar 25 and on all of them have been at the head of the pack or close / competitive on dps.

5. We are a raiding guild and ended TBC top 200 US; it is expected you have raiding experience and know ALL fights you will be brought to. In your opinion, what is the most difficult boss encounter you have ever defeated and why?:
Most difficult encounter I did was Kael in tk before they nerfed his hp and lady Vashj at the beginning of BC. I found those encounters the hardest because they required full raid coordination to complete sucessfully (ex. throwing orbs on vashj and splitting the raid to fight the various subbosses on KT), rather than just requiring the heals to spam heals the dps to push their attack keys and turn off their brains.. My raiding history isn't particularly impressive as Pre-BC I only raided casually in a guild part way through AQ40 and in BC I left part way through BT to return to college full time. However in Wraith I cleared all content and attained Glory to the Heroic Raider. (I dunno if you would consider it much, but I hope it will show I'm at least competent)

6. Previous guilds/servers and reason for leaving:
Nullify on Mal'Ganis - 90% of the time I'm happy there, but there is a real tendency for some people to lose focus during raids over a four - five hour period which leads to some frustrating ends to some otherwise fun nights. I'm also leaving Mal'Ganis because a number of my friends are coming to this server.

7. It is assumed you will be available from 8-12 ST (Server Time is EST) Sunday through Thursday. If you can’t, please explain why you couldn't make our scheduled raid times (or why you even bothered applying):
I can make all the raid times, I'm also in EST and the latest class I have ends at 6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

8. Explain what specifically puts you at the top? We raid to be at the top and expect it of all our members. Do you take pride in topping meters, never letting the tank die, never pulling aggro, etc.? What separates you from the rest? Be specific, this will be a major indicator of the kind of player you are:
I've been a dps warrior since six months after the game launched and aside from a gap when BT/Sunwell came out I have been playing the game non-stop since then. I love playing a dps warrior and really strive to do my best at it, I usually lead the pack in dps atm or I come close, I always come prepared to raids both in terms of flasks etc and raid strats. I'm a really laid back guy that can follow directions during raids, come fully prepared and I love to stay overtime. I like my class, a lot, I'm always looking at the math-stuff(theorycrafting) and striving to play better.

9. Post a screenshot of your UI (Thumbnail Please) or a comprehensive list of mods that you use for raiding (Screenshot prefered.) ARE YOU A CLICKER Y/N?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v242/K...1240456914
I NO CLICK
not really pictured but I use these mods in addition to what is show in the ss:
DBM
Omen
ClassTimer

10. If you have thoroughly answered the following questions and you are confident you are what we are looking for, you have a good chance of being trialed, but we'd like to know why you want to join us? What made you choose us over the other guilds out there?
The name was a big thing... General vibe I got was that this is a guild where I'll have some laughs and where things will get done in a timely manner.

11. Add anything else you think we’d find interesting (such as you’re a GM, you recorded WWS for your old guild, you were an officer or did assignments in a past guild, you are Kalgan’s alt [Fuck that guy], or anything else noteworthy).
In a previous guild on Mal'Ganis (Reckoning) I was a raid officer and called some bosses and I do raid assigments on some bosses in my current guild when needed.

12. In regards to Ventrilo, do you have a WORKING microphone? Do you actually USE IT in a raid situation?
Yes and Yes

*Edits for spelling
