Madness of Deathwing - Talith - 12-05-2011 I have been crunching the numbers to see what order suits us best after last nights' attempts and this is what we will do: Ysera -> Alexstrasza -> Nozdormu -> Kalecgos It was clear that we can't afford to lose Kalec since we can't assist target even if our lives depended on it, and with the buff active we even killed some blood waves inside 10s before they regenerated even once. This order will prevent us from falling behind in dps and minimize healer stress on risky stuff. I figure that if we have to kill the extra adds on the final hand we can do them twice with no big deal and I rather avoid two meteor strikes since we wont have as much health when we lose Alexstrasza. This is how it wil go down: Ysera: business as usual, all buffs up Alexstrasza: Business as usual, we lost Ysera's healing Nozdormu: Now we lost 20% health, but our raid dps is still the same, we will kill the meteor before it lands so only healers should be ready to improve healing since ppl wont be able to take as many hits before dropping: I noticed that when we started spreading out raid damage dropped considerably so losing 20% health should not be a big deal. New Adds: We will have to deal with the adds on the hand, these cannot be AoEd down but as long as everyone switches to a target they should drop down fast while also splashing damage to the hand. The fire debuff stack will increase raid damage so healers should be ready with a raid CD if necesary Kalec: We now lost20% haste and the meteor will hit, however we are concentrating all the risk in a couple of minutes. The idea is to dps hand, switch to tentacle and as soon as meteor is announced we Hero: now we have raid dps as high as usual, since we only have this single meteor hit we can blow every single type of healer CD at the same time (Aura mastery, bubble tranq, healthstone, any tank raid wall we have and personal cooldowns). With hero up the meteor should die fast. The most important thing is that we get the bloods inside hero, that way we can still kill them in 10-20s and get back to hand dps ASAP. Save the other bubble, AM and tranq for when adds spawn and we take increased fire damage. Overall i think the priority is to have hero up when blood comes out so if blowing it at meteor is too soon we will adjust hero time to later. Phase 2: We recover all the buffs so having 20% haste + hero probably would cause more trouble than benefit so Im sure it is best used on that final claw. During phase 2 the priority will be to use Ysera's dream as soon as you get the debuff to reduce damage. Other than that is just a "switch to shit as soon as it appears" then back to boss burn phase. Re: Madness of Deathwing - myndor - 12-05-2011 well.. i wish u had listened on mumble last night before doing all that crunching rofl we are gona kill 3 adds ot the rest burn the claw... hero needs to be saved for the last 10% of the fight Re: Madness of Deathwing - Firecrest - 12-05-2011 I don't see any reason why you can't do both. Letting two meteors hit is not advantageous to having healers with sufficient mana to heal P2. That shit was just ridiculous. Plus, you're burning twice the number of raid CDs. It'd be much better to have just one meteor hit and then have a second set of raid CDs available for P2. Talith's order is superior to the one we were using last night. You can still OT adds if necessary at the end of Platform 4. The only issue I see is if we are not able to get adds down on Platform 3 fast enough. This is a problem with people not assisting properly. If we can fix that problem, there's no reason not to go with Talith's plan. As far as hero, we should probably at least see what P2 looks like before we start definitively stating when it will be used. Re: Madness of Deathwing - Talith - 12-05-2011 Firecrest Wrote:I don't see any reason why you can't do both. We can do the usual and hero on p1 to start reaching p2 and then move it to p2 when our p1 execution allows it. And I listen to mumble but 20% haste + 30% haste sounds more like only spell clipping waiting for the GCD and not a REAL benefit for raid dps. Re: Madness of Deathwing - abecx - 12-05-2011 I think that using kalecgos last will end up being the better strat while keeping a few adds up is a floater to just get it killed. We're going to end up using both depending on how they work out, either way I foresee one of them working. Re: Madness of Deathwing - Mooq - 12-05-2011 A simple /target Elementium Bolt macro is a easy enough to implement. Why don't you faggots give that a try? Then just have everyone stack under the tentacle and pop raid cd's while dps blow up the bolt. It will hit and it will do shit tons of damage to the raid. The point is that having it hit just once is better than having it hit twice. Of course it will hit, but with the macro you can get at LEAST one cast from every caster to hit the bolt before it lands. It's just something we do and it seems to work pretty well.
