What is that swirling vortex of power that is between the Eastern Kingdons and Kalimdor? It's called the Maelstrom...
The Maelstrom was created thousands of years ago after the end of the War of the Ancients with the destruction of the Well of Eternity. The explosion caused huge destruction of much of the land mass and reshaped the world as we know it today. Previously, there was only one giant continent, Kalimdor. This event is often referred to as The Great Sundering [of Azeroth] or The Cataclysm.
The Maelstrom marks the location of where the Well of Eternity used to be and is a reminder that peaceful times are lost.
Little is known about the state of the Maelstrom. Some think that it is a vortex slowing swallowing the remains of Azeroth. There is also the idea that the land mass was not destroyed, but pulled into an alternate dimension where some lost heroes and villians have remained.
Still no word on the Emerald Dream.
Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2 are looking good.
The next generation MMO from Blizzard will not be out any time soon (+many years to go).
I do not work for Blizzard.

There's like a thousand people and even random ex-Blizz employees saying the same thing already.

Since nothing is official, there is no promise of what content will be in the next expansion. However, these are just things leaking out about the potential future of WoW's content. I would go as far to say Deathwing and Sargeras can/will make appearances through out the next expansion, but just consider it all rumors or theories for now.

I MISS YOU DOODAH! <3
Re: ...Exp... - Burlock - 07-12-2009
So do you think sargeras is going to claim the maelstrom? If deathwing is there maybe another ony-entrance raid? Naga raid because it is the maelstrom? Probably a lot of murlocs.
What are some potential new hero classes?
Re: ...Exp... - Hitshade - 07-12-2009
Well Queen Azshara is wet in the gills for Sargeras after all. Nice easy rehashing of the Kaelthas/Kiljaden relationship.
Another old god is likely (because it was probably the old gods who turned her and the Highborne into naga)
Archdruid? Blademaster? Smart money is on another healing class to counter the additional plate brought by DKs.
Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see Deathwing until Emerald Dream type content/expansion.
