Driver Issues with my headset?

I've had the same mic since I was in devils advocate which if you guys know the Abecpedia that was before AoTR, Guardians of the Faith, and even Discipline/Seven Sins.

I dont think 7 month old hardware is that bad.

I dont either, its really weird that this isnt working as usb 2.0 is an incredibly common external device platform.

Edit: I figured it out. Vista is so retarded sometimes; you have to manually enable the device switch from speakers to microphone headset. You do this by setting a "default device" in the sound extensions panel. Simply right click sounds then click "sounds" and go the the playback or recording tabs.
