i don't think they will believe i need quad-core for word processing.

Tell them they are as old and outdated as the technology they want to buy you. What good is a laptop that finishes loading its OS when your class is over? None!

Tell them you would be better off with a fucking typewriter.

Indeed.....what i did was tell my folks that I was taking a elective computer graphics and design class.....and I needed to have a tech heavy laptop
