Im not entirely sure I agree with it being easier for Illidan to be redeemed. His misdeeds seem of his own volition and stem from his lust for power. Whereas Arthas, on the other hand, believed what he was doing was right. Arthas was corrupted by Ner'zhul while Illidan really chose to serve the legion without any outside influence, solely for personal gain. Im as much as fan of Illidan as anyone, but I dont really think he would look back on many of his actions with regret. Nor do I think he would be forgiven.
I actually hope Arthas is redeemed. I dont necessarily think he would live... as cliche as it is, it would be nice for him to return to the light. So to speak. A kind of Darth Vader death. rofl.
