Thats what I hear... especially if you "work" the cash register. *wink* *wink*

I always wanted to set up a home theater deal kinda like you have there... the best I could muster was a 100" projector in the bedroom. But it works.

Well I figured if you're gonna make that nice home theater looking area, at least enjoy it comfortably!

Well truthfully it came with the house, apparently it used to belong to an old couple. They used it for their grand kids so the theater sits worked for them. Most of the equipment down there is already 8 years old, the TV is pretty subpar by today's standards.

In a testament to just how fast I can change my mind when I'm not completely satisfied... I went hunting for a better deal.
(I promise I'll only revise this list another 5 times).

Different CPU/MOBO/RAM

Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6819115202

ASUS Rampage II GENE LGA 1366 Intel X58
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6813131371

OCZ Platinum 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6820227381

I just cant argue with the performance increase the i7 would provide over the Phenom chip. After all the little changes here and there, providing I go with someone other than my favorite local store, this intel system would actually cost me ~$200 less than the AMD. Go figure.

Different Case and PSU... possibly.

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6811129021

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6817139006

The case is basically the same, but a little cheaper... in the end a case, is pretty much, a case.
Going with this PSU though. Great reviews, even has the correct number of pcie power connectors so I don't need to fuck around with adapters. Took a harder look at just how much power my new computer will need... this thing packs enough juice to power more than what I intend to drop into the system.

Tune in next week, when I'm bound to revise this list yet again.

the antec 300 could be replaced for the 900 if you want to save 30 bucks and then you wont look like a ricer

why did you switch from amd to intel?
