Diagoras Wrote:Well, this is the one point I had to address. Obvious lack of core knowledge is not something you can determine just by looking at my armory gear. I keep up to date on information about my class (even when my account wasn't active) and change my loadout. Like I said, if I'm not actively raiding I'm not going to be worried about reforging the second I get a piece of new gear. I may not be very experienced in Cataclysm raiding, but I did raid all through WotLK after being a BC baby. I may be beyond your HM alt runs, but if there's nothing you're willing to do to trial new potential raiders then there's nothing I can do. Apologies for not being able to raid with a serious guild the moment I hit 85.Yeah, but here's the thing. This isn't the moment you hit 85 or the moment after you got a new piece of gear. It's the moment you applied to a serious raiding guild. I made the analogy before and it still holds true. You showed up to this interview in jeans and a t-shirt. As an employer, what else am I to assume other than that you're an undependable hippie? Sure, you may not be a hippie. You may take the job very seriously and be the best employee I've ever had. But guess what? I have to use what I've got and you obviously don't care enough about your interview to put on a suit and tie. So I have to assume that's the same kind of dedication you'd give the job.
In this case, our job description clearly states:
It is required you use the best gems and get the best enchants on your gear; endgame raiders should not have any cheap gems, cheap or no enchants, and/or incorrect stats for your class. In addition you must have two raiding professions leveled high enough for their maximum benefits.
Yet you didn't meet these requirements. So I can make two assumptions. Either 1) you don't really care about getting the spot, won't try if you get there and will probably flake out after a couple months or 2) you think your armory is in a good place when it's really not and are therefore a bad player who doesn't know his class.
Which of these should make me excited to bring you on board?
Since the sarcasm in my last post may not have been clear, let me be more specific. While a lack of experience is kinda lame, I don't particularly care too much at this point. If we had new recruits applying left and right and could afford to be choosy, then sure. We'd ask for at least 12/12. But Scilla and our guild are in a weird place right now and I don't mind trying to find the "diamond in the rough". Hell, like Cahn said above, that was me. When I came to WLPH, I lacked experience raiding. It was not that I hadn't killed some number of bosses, I'd been raiding (with a shitty, unprogressed guild) for like a whopping grand total of 2 months before I joined. However, I still knew my class. I stood in fire and didn't throw the core, but I wasn't stacking Spirit and I knew what buttons to press when.
So, trust me when I say that lack of experience is something we can fix. Teaching you how to play your class (or bringing on an undedicated player) is not something I'm willing to work with. I liked your attitude and told you that we could use our alt run to teach you to play or that you could fix your issues and come back to get a spot in our main run. Both those offers still stand. If you choose not to take them, that's up to you.
