If an item is an upgrade for you - roll on it. Shit like Avanne's Memento is not gonna fly any more. Like Jack said - he and Abe and I can't possibly know all the nuances of all the classes. So we will be relying on the Class Leads to let us know if someone's being stupid. Hopefully it won't be an issue but don't be surprised to see forced loot or a lack of raid invites if your gear lags behind everyone else because you're hoarding DKP.

Sidegrades and minor upgrades are a different matter. It's kind of a shitty way of having to do it but "officer discretion" is the best way we know how to handle these things. If so-and-so got X for reduced dkp and you think you should get Y at a reduced cost, bring it up to Jack or I after the raid. But if you're going to emo out if we tell you that we're deciding to still charge you full cost - you might as well just leave the guild now and save us the headache.

Our system is easily one of the best I've ever seen and Jack does a great job managing it. It's not perfect though so we have to do the best we can with what we've got. As always, if you ever have a problem - see an officer.

agreed, it's one of the best I've seen, but as Jack said.. it's obviously not perfect. The reason some people might not want to pay 1/2 dkp for a 1h spell dmg weapon in comparison to 1/2 dkp for a spell staff should be obvious. Spell staff takes up 2 slots for 1/2 dkp, while if you take the 1h spell dmg weapon you still have to pay 1/2 dkp for an offhand now.

It would balance the system a little bit more. There's really no need for people to get hostile over it lol. Whether we keep our current system or change... in the end both are still fine methods.

Great post guys, constructive and very well laid out. Jack your system is very interesting and very fair, I don't see how much more tweaking you can do presently, who knows maybe in the future. Thank you for posting this.

DKP has been very hectic recently. The speed of raids is much faster now than Sunwell was when it would take us several attempts to down a boss and I could easily do DKP while running back or waiting for buffs, Sunwell also only had six bosses while Naxxramas has fifteen bosses. I've also been messing around with my motherboard and some new RAM I bought and it's caused me to get critical errors and BSOD in game which resets all the DKP I've done since I've been online.

I apologize for the amateur job I've been doing with DKP the last couple weeks, I've resolved my computer issues for the most part and am currently looking for a new DKP program or system to make DKP easier and more reliable to manage.

I apologize if I have overlooked anybody's DKP or somebody got loot that you should have gotten instead, but in the end it's just loot and I try my best to be as fair and understanding as possible.

I've decided to step down from DKP after almost a year of doing DKP for WLPH. Meeks will take over DKP from now on.

It is my responsibility to make sure loot is distributed fairly and for the best benefit of the guild, and against my advice our DKP has lost much of the fairness and thought that goes into loot distribution, I will have no part in this.

The direction in which our DKP system is going such as; blindly docking players DKP for things they are not at fault for, charging for for fucking vanity items, allowing the hording of DKP, not sticking to what is said, numerous disagreements about specifics of DKP, are all examples of things I don't want to be responsible for.

This stepping down from my "responsibility" is not something that I spontaneously decided on after the Four Horsemen incident last night, I've been talking to Meeks for a couple weeks about DKP now. My ideals and sentiments about our DKP have became mute and my responsibility to keep things fair and to the best benefit in the guild has been slowly abolished since WotLK.

I don't want to get into specifics again, but I've never been for DKP docking unless it's for obvious things such as falling off the ledge at Eredar Twins or blowing the raid up on Solarian. We've been docking DKP for train sets, holding up raids, dying to flame walls when players have tons of adds dazing them, people dying to no heals, people dying to players in the wrong place chaining damage, etc. to scare people into not dying?!

I docked zero DKP the night we finally downed three drake Sartharion, and in fact most of our first kills I never docked DKP.

If you ask me what needs to be done to prevent players from fucking up? What we did for Felmyst was perfect, listing what people died to and how many times, and the next time we went in there players either figured it out or sat, and we downed Felmyst with no fear of loss of DKP. When healers fuck up I PST them and identify the problem and fix it, I don't scare them into performing, at least I hope I don't.

I was upset when I said I didn't want to do DKP anymore and was called out for "not doing my responsibility" because my responsibility is to distribute loot as fairly and for the best benefit of the guild as possible which against my will is not so anymore. This has been an ongoing issue well before the Four Horsemen incident and I just wanted everybody to know my reasons for not doing DKP anymore are not personal (rather a disagreement in ideals) and I've voiced my displeasure with the way DKP is going without change, so I'm agreeing to disagree but will no longer enforce it.

I'm not mad or disappointed at anybody specifically and I probably could've spoke up louder about my disapproval with our DKP, I've been frustrated with it since about the time we handed out thousands of DKP for faction leaders and I think it's time I step down. I'm confident Meeks will do a great job with DKP and I'll help him get it going and maybe help with WWS and creating a list of fuck ups to fix to improve the situation rather than just bitch about it.

This thread should answer all questions people have been asking me about DKP and I see no reason to further reply. Please PST Meeks or Alyse for specifics about DKP from now on. Thanks.

Due to some school obligations, Meeks is not going to be around as much as he used to. So I will be taking over DKP responsibilities. Jack and Meeks will be back ups in case I'm not around or changes or corrections need to be made. If you find a mistake in your DKP try to see me first, but all three of us have access to the data.

Please be patient while I get used to the mod. I've done a lot of work on the back end, but I haven't spent a whole lot of time using the clunky in game interface.


As a reminder, our current DKP rules are as follows:

Boss Kills are 10 DKP
A timed award of 5 DKP is given every 30 minutes

50% DKP for Main Spec
25% DKP for Off Spec Tier and "High Level Loots" (desirable loot such as weapons off of KT - my discretion)
All other Off Spec and Off Off Spec is free
