Would they make a hybrid hero class? I don't think they will ever add an Archdruid...blademaster possibly.


But with WOTLK they released a DK. Arthas is a DK. Maybe it will be like Myrmidon or Sea Witch if we see a Maelstrom expansion.

They could add more than 1 hero class too. I thought they said they were planning on adding several more.

At this point you could argue that all but 4 classes (rogue, mage, hunter and warlock) are hybrids. All other classes are capable of performing at least 2 roles in a raid. Given a tank/dps hero class was added in wotlk I dont think it would be far fetched to say that a healing/dps class would be next. Whether or not its an Archdruid is debatable, but from a balance standpoint I would still bet that whatever comes next will be capable of healing.

They did say that the dk was only the first of several hero classes planned. I cant see a blademaster being the next introduction, given it would likely be too similar to other plate wearers.

All the signs seem to point to a Malestrom expansion... so if we want to relate Arthas with the Death Knight hero class, an arguement for Archdruid/Healer could be made as follows:

Azshara wants revenge on those who stood in her way. Namely; Malfurion, Tyrande and Illidan. Illidan is dead, Malfurion (the most powerful Archdruid) is lost in the Emerald Dream, leaving only Tyrande (a Sentinel and High-Priestess). One could surmise that Tyrande may realize the threat Azshara would pose to Azeroth and begin training other Priestesses (or even Sentinels... hmm... another hunter like class?) or find a way to commune with Malfurion and Cenarius in the emerald dream... Perhaps having Remulos train new Archdruids, or even Dryads.

All speculative of course... a lot of this lore also ties in with events surrounding the Emerald Dream, so who knows. There's also the problem of the horde to consider when it comes to Tyrande... to say nothing of the fact that it was the horde who killed Cenarius, idk.

Fun to think about though, right? lol

Edit: Dawn's on me that Sentinel/High-priest probably wouldn't fly as a new class given the Horde dont share any similar heroes. They do have druids though, and maybe the Tauren are nice enough that Cenarius and his children would forgive them for joining with the greenskins that killed him.

Who knows at this point... personally though, I dont see there being enough content to add for the Emerald dream to give it its own expansion. Sure there is a ton of lore, but what would the emerald dream be? A phased version of Azeroth with a green hue and no citys? rofl.

A major content patch for the Malestrom expansion would be more likely.

At least with the Malestrom we know from the lore that there is a huge landmass that was pulled to the bottom of the ocean, so there would be new areas to explore. The Emerald Dream on the other hand, is just Azeroth as it would have been without any of the intelligent races.

The way I see it, emerald dream could be a hyjal-type instance were you battle alongside Furion Stormrage...Deathwing's Lair will be in that unknown dungeon in CoT.

But, if emerald dream was an expansion...a city could be Eye of Ysera or whatever...the home of the green dragonflight.

For Horde, Tauren were on the side of the night elves during the War of the Ancients, there's bound to be some form of legend told within Tauren Lore. In addition though the horde killed Cenarius, it was only after Grom drank the blood of Mannoroth. (Remember how fucking awesome those Chaos orcs were in wc3)

In addition to the obvious Maelstrom, Emerald Dream, Twisting Nether, you can consider the elemental plane, as only Ragnaros has been defeated. Neptulon would probably make a Maelstrom appearance though.

By the way, your point on Azshara wanting revenge on Illidan was debatable if not incorrect. She was never aware of his defection from her side, shown plainly by the aide Vashj gave Illidan. On the matter of Illidan's death, the screams for some form of revival have been very loud, as Illidan is among the top three most popular characters, and he's different from Arthas in that his revival and forgiveness would be more easily achieved, though the possibility of having the second half of the Arthas fight be with the spirit of Ner'Zhul gives that option for Arthas as well, but I personally wouldn't chance on his survival even if there was some gay shit where his good spirit helped you fight the bad.

As for Deathwing's lair, there're to many possibilities to even bother sorting through. Grim Batol, The real chamber of aspects, not that shitty one under Wyrmrest. I just spent the past few minutes looking at the part in The Sundering where Malfurion travels to Deathwing's lair, but as suspected it is extremely vague, and even if it held any clues, we must remember Knaak only used what Blizzard revealed to him.

Im not entirely sure I agree with it being easier for Illidan to be redeemed. His misdeeds seem of his own volition and stem from his lust for power. Whereas Arthas, on the other hand, believed what he was doing was right. Arthas was corrupted by Ner'zhul while Illidan really chose to serve the legion without any outside influence, solely for personal gain. Im as much as fan of Illidan as anyone, but I dont really think he would look back on many of his actions with regret. Nor do I think he would be forgiven.

I actually hope Arthas is redeemed. I dont necessarily think he would live... as cliche as it is, it would be nice for him to return to the light. So to speak. A kind of Darth Vader death. rofl.
